Master the traditional Yang-style Taijiquan Weapons Full Curriculum!

This unique three year long series covers the weapons curriculum of Yang-style Taijiquan and includes TaijiSabre (Dao), Taiji Straight-sword (Jian), and Taiji Spear (Qiang). Learn the traditional forms and the thirteen -power concept for each weapon. Sam's approach to this subject will provide students with deeper insights into taijiquan's concepts of health, self defence and self-cultivation.

Saturday/Sunday Yang-style 32 Taijidao Sabre form 'Chen Yanlin form'

It is almost impossible to find instruction today on this early 32 movement of Yang-style taijidao routine. The form expresses sabre principles simply and elegantly and functions as an ideal preparation for Yang-style weapons training. This sabre sequence first appeared in print in Chen Yanlin's 1943 book 'Taiji Boxing, Sabre, Sword, Pole, Sparring Compiled'. For many masters Chen's manual stood as the definitive handbook of Yang-style Taijiquan. The names of the 32 sabre forms are augmented with a beautiful 16 line 'Taijidao Name Song'.

Please bring a wooden or metal taiji sabre. A Japanese style katana will work. Excellent taiji sabres can be purchased from the Yang Family website here.
